Money makes the world go round for some people. It can buy a lot of things even love. It can also make your brother turn against you because of his greed. So this is where our story is going to revolve around the insatiable hunger for money.
Race is the story of two brothers, where the younger brother (Rajiv) plotted to kill his older brother (Ranvir) just to get the money that their father left for his older brother. In order to plot his death, Rajiv connives with the woman that his older brother loves (Sonia). Sonia agrees with the plan with the condition of paying her a big sum of money. As Sonia tries to get Ranvir’s feelings, she falls in love with him and reveals the plan his younger brother had for him. During the confrontation between the three, the Sonia decides that she wants to have that sum of money the Rajiv is offering him even though she loves Ranvir. She pushes Ranvir off the terrace eventually killing him. The authorities investigating the fall suspected that this was a case of murder and not a simple accident. So they conducted a more comprehensive study of the case. As they studied the case, they found out that Rajiv and Sonia faked the reports and they were actually guilty of the crime. In order for Sonia not speak to the cops, Rajiv plots her death so he hires a killer. The plan back fired because Ravnir appears and saves Sonia from the killer. He reveals that in order to get his insurance money he pretended to be dead. In order to resolve the feud between the two brothers, Ravnir, who loves racing, suggests that they compete in a car race and whoever wins the race gets the money. Unfortunately Rajiv dies in the race together with Sophia ( Ranvir’s secretary) as the car he was driving hit a petroleum truck. At the end of the story, Ranvir collects his and Rajiv’s insurance money and flees the city.
The movie has received positive reviews from its viewers. It was one of the highest grossing films in the year 2008. Because of its huge success they are planning the movies sequel.
