The entire rumored plot of Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” has reportedly leaked online.
Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” is raking in the bucks at the box office and being met with widespread praise from fans and critics alike. One standout element of the film that has been embraced by movie-goers is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man/Peter Parker.
The previous two Spider-Man franchises were both full properties of Sony Pictures. But now that Sony and Marvel have agreed to share the rights to the character, the wall crawler is finally in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After “Civil War,” Spidey will be headlining his own solo film, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” due out next year. Aside from a few casting decisions, not a whole lot is known about this new Marvel-ized Spider-Man.
Until now, that is.
An unconfirmed yet incredibly detailed plot summary for “Homecoming” has reportedly “leaked” online from 4chan. There’s no way to tell if these details are accurate, so take it with several grains of salt. However, 4chan has a solid track record when it comes to their Marvel reporting, and the details do fit some of the rumored information floating around out there. Even if the report isn’t true, it makes for a fun read.
We’re not going to copy and paste the whole thing here because that would lead to pages and pages of poorly formatted text. But we highly suggest that you click the above link to check it out.
Based on the report, it seems as if Marvel and Sony are taking a lot of inspiration from the Spectacular and Ultimate comic book runs on Spider-Man in the recent years. There’s a lot in the report that would admittedly make for a great re-introduction into the well-known and beloved web head that integrates nicely with the established MCU.
To recap some of the more interesting moments:
-One witness claims they were saved by Daredevil, with another pointing out that it was actually their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
-High school is a drag for Peter (what else is new), but this version seems to be a more genuine exploration of the character’s youth as opposed to the Tobey Maguire/Andrew Garfield versions.
-Oscorp has been on the rise since SHIELD fell. Sounds like a potential villain set up, no?
There’s a lot of other cool tidbits that are worth checking out. We’ll keep you posted on any other details that emerge.
